Prescott Valley council approves 2025–26 MOU with police officers association, includes pay and benefit changes

The Prescott Valley Town Council unanimously approved the annual memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Prescott Valley Police Officers Association (PVPOA) for fiscal year 2025–26 at the June 12 meeting.
Vice President Hepperly of the PVPOA outlined negotiated amendments, saying staff recommended a 7% wage adjustment to remain competitive with surrounding agencies for officers through the sergeant level. The agreement also removes step designations for senior officer classifications so officers can reach top pay more easily, shifts on‑call pay from a flat rate to an hourly idle rate to align with payroll processing, clarifies positions covered by the MOU to match town code, and specifies holiday hours and overtime calculations for certain units. Hepperly also said the negotiated specialty pay for approved positions was increased and uniform reimbursement will be paid no later than August each year.
Town staff thanked the association for professional negotiations and said the adjustments were made within the town’s fiscal constraints to invest in retention and recruitment. A council member moved to approve the annual MOU with the Prescott Valley Police Officers Association for fiscal year 2025–2026; another member seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
