Show Low district renews food-service agreements; board praises contractor’s improvements

The Show Low School District approved a permanent food-service agreement submission to the Arizona Department of Education and renewed its multisite food-service management contract for FY 2026, and board members publicly commended recent improvements in meal quality.
Miss Kaylee Davis presented the required permanent agreement and said the signature authority will be granted to district administrators so the agreement can be submitted to the state. The board then approved the Biscuit Hill 25 cooperative agreement submission (motion passed) and later approved renewal of the SFE contract for the second year of a five-year agreement (motion passed).
During the discussion, a board member asked to publicly recognize John Joyner of FSC, saying the district has “been super pleased” with improvements in food quality and that recent events — including a wrestling camp — had offered positive feedback. The board member described the change as a “180-degree turnaround” and thanked Joyner and his team.
Davis told the board the district does not plan to increase breakfast and lunch prices next year. The item packet included the SFE renewal documents, cooperative purchasing agreements and the permanent agreement paperwork required by ADE. Motions to approve the permanent agreement and the SFE renewal were adopted by the board.
