Dawsonville — The Dawsonville City Council approved a service agreement with Jackal Media Group to produce two concerts in 2025, with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) committing $5,000 toward each show and the city agreeing to provide matching funds.
Assistant City Manager Jacob Evans introduced Jackal Media Group, which described a turnkey concert model that includes staging, sound, lighting, video production and vendor management. Joshua Jackals, a Jackal Media representative, and Steve (surname reported in the packet) described a business model that pairs production with local sponsorship sales to offset event costs.
Steve, a Jackal representative, said the company’s standard package is $10,000 per concert and includes a $1,000 credit toward a featured band. “We give you a thousand dollars towards a band,” he said, adding the company also helps source local and regional talent and sells sponsor placements on a logo screen to generate revenue for the host city.
Jackal Media and staff proposed two concerts this year as a pilot and suggested the events could pre‑activate space the city plans for a future amphitheater. The DDA indicated it would commit $5,000 to each of the two concerts, which staff and Jackal said would cut the city’s initial net cost while sponsorship sales were pursued.
Jackal representatives said they could deliver a show on roughly a 60‑day timeline depending on band availability, staging, and coordination; recommended windows discussed included August–September or September–October. Jacob Evans said staff would serve as the city’s points of contact and would coordinate dates and sponsorship lists.
Council member (name stated as Veil in the record) moved to approve Jackal Media as the city’s concert contractor with the city to match DDA funding; the council approved the motion (vote not recorded in transcript). Staff said they will follow up on dates, sponsorship outreach, and contract review by the city attorney.
Ending: Staff and Jackal Media will finalize dates, sponsorship outreach, and a production schedule and return to the council with any material contract terms that require further approval.
