Summary
The board approved a Sodexo renewal for the 2025–26 school year, with a 3.8% CPI-based price increase and an estimated annual food-services spend of about $1.6 million under the CEP program.
The Molalla River School District 35 board approved renewal of the district's food services contract with Sodexo for the 2025–26 year during the June 12 meeting.
District staff explained the contract began July 1, 2023, allows up to four one‑year renewals and contains an annual escalation clause tied to the consumer price index for "food away from home." For 2025–26 the CPI‑based allowable increase was 3.8%, which Sodexo applied to the fixed per‑meal lunch equivalent.
District staff said the district's annual spend on food services under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is expected to be about $1,600,000 for 2025–26, up from approximately $1,400,000 the prior year. The procurement overview and the recommendation to approve the renewal were presented by district staff and supported by the board.
Directors moved and seconded the recommended renewal and approved it by voice/hand vote.
