Council awards $633,102 roadway rehabilitation contract to Allied Paving

Dawsonville — The Dawsonville City Council approved a contract award for the 2025 Roadway Rehabilitation project to Allied Paving, the low bidder on a package that includes Maple Street, Richmond Drive, Pearl Chambers Drive, Pearl Chambers Way and Pearl Chambers Court.
Public works staff reported six bids were opened on May 20; the low bid was about $633,102 while the highest bid received was about $9.9 million. Staff recommended the low bidder, Allied Paving Contractors, and the council approved the award.
Staff said, if the council approved the award, project scheduling and contractor coordination would be handled through the public works office and the assistant city manager; staff will notify council members by email with the contractor’s schedule once dates are set.
Council member Will Ilk moved to approve Allied Paving (motion seconded by Council member Sandy Sawyer) and the council vote passed 4–0.
Ending: Staff will coordinate contract execution and provide the council with timing and start-date details once the contractor and staff complete required paperwork.
