WOBURN, Mass. — The City Council on June 3 adopted a zoning amendment proposed by Councilor Demers and colleagues that revises the zoning ordinance definitions for outdoor dining and certain restaurant/fast‑food uses and adds a new note (note 29) to the Table of Use Regulations (Section 5.1).
Councilor Demers, joined by Councilors Toro and D'Mambro as sponsors, placed the proposed text before the council and the committee on ordinance reported favorably. The public hearing was opened and closed during the meeting with no public speakers.
After discussion, the council adopted the order by roll call. The clerk recorded the roll‑call yeas from Council Campbell, Council Demers, Council Demambro, Council Ferullo, Council Mercedruen, Council Popolato, Council Toro, Council Viola and President Dillon. The president declared, “Aye. That passes.”
The amendment updates definitions and adds clarifying note 29 to the zoning use table; the ordinance text and note will be filed in the city’s zoning records and become effective according to the usual adoption process.
