Clarke County Public Schools leaders told the board June 10 they will post updated teacher and administrative salary scales on the division website later this week to support transparency during hiring.
A presenter said the division took last year’s teacher salary schedule and applied a 4% increase, and they adjusted an administrative pay scale similarly. “All we did was take last year's teacher scale, reflect the 4% raise,” a staff member said. Division staff noted their entry-level salaries are competitive, while the upper ranges lose momentum compared with peer divisions.
The presenter said the division plans to publish a single consolidated salary booklet and update it each year after budget approval so applicants can see current pay ranges when they apply. Board members had no formal objection and treated the update as informational.
