Dr. Adams told the board that allocations for fiscal year 2026 had not yet been released by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and that the presentation therefore described how this year’s federal funds were spent and how the district planned to use next year’s funds once allocations arrive. He said the district receives Title I, Title II and Title IV funds but not Title III, which requires a larger English‑learner population.
The report said the district had dedicated a majority of Title I dollars this year to academic specialists at Givens Elementary School to support reading and math; Givens is the district’s only Title I school. Title II funds were used for professional learning tied to literacy and the new elementary math resource, and Title IV supported high‑school computer‑science courses and elementary/middle-school “thrive” programs. Dr. Adams recommended continuing those priorities in 2025–26, including restorative-practices and character-based-discipline professional development under Title II.
After questions about the timing of DESE allocations, a board member moved to approve the 2024–25 Federal Programs report and the 2025–26 recommendations; the board approved the motion by voice vote with no recorded objections.
