Livingston Parish board adopts 2025–26 professional evaluation plan; drops COMPASS evaluations

The Livingston Parish School Board unanimously approved the 2025–26 Professional Evaluation Plan, which updates the district’s personnel evaluation framework and job descriptions.
Brian Wax, identified in the meeting as human services supervisor, presented the PEP and asked the board to adopt it. Wax said the district is removing COMPASS evaluations because the state is requiring use of the Louisiana educator rubric and the Louisiana leader rubric; as a result, COMPASS will no longer be used. He told the board some job descriptions were revised for currency, some obsolete descriptions were deleted, and some new job descriptions were added (the board had previously approved the corresponding positions and the PEP is being updated to include them).
Board member Brad Sharp moved to adopt the 2025–26 PEP and Cecil Harris seconded; the motion carried. No substantive public discussion was recorded on the item at the meeting.
The PEP will replace COMPASS-based evaluations with the state rubrics for the coming school year and will incorporate the updated job descriptions into personnel files and evaluation procedures.
