The RSU 04 school board moved and unanimously approved hiring Joelle Jackson as a multilingual learning teacher for the 2025–26 school year.
Jackson introduced herself briefly at the meeting. “I currently work in Lewiston, and I wanted to come to a rural district and also to have a smaller caseload and to bring my skills as a multilingual learner teacher here,” she said when board member Diane asked about her reasons for applying. Trustees welcomed Jackson and confirmed the appointment.
The vote was taken during the consent and personnel portion of the agenda; Jackson attended the meeting in the audience and answered one question from board members. No objections were recorded and the appointment was approved. The superintendent, administrators and board members thanked Jackson for joining the district and said they looked forward to her starting in the fall.
