Board staff report completion of routine inspections for pharmacies licensed more than four years

The California State Board of Pharmacy’s Enforcement and Compounding Committee heard an annual update on the Board’s inspection program on June 11, 2025, where staff reported this year’s inspection totals and common compliance problems.
Julie Ansell, deputy executive officer, told the Committee that inspectors had completed 2,833 inspections through May 15, 2025, and that “every pharmacy licensed for more than 4 years has received a routine inspection.” She said the Board’s strategic objective calls for routine inspections of all licensed pharmacies at least every four years.
