At the Town of Moraga meeting on June 11, resident Linda May told council she has frequently encountered full stops while driving down Moraga Road into Lafayette because work‑ahead signs are placed halfway down the hill. She said placing signs at the top of the hill would give drivers adequate notice and avoid missed appointments.
"My big peeve is going down the hill, Moraga Road into Lafayette. Get halfway down, and it comes to a complete stop," Linda May said, adding she has missed medical appointments after unexpected delays. She asked whether signs could be placed near the church at the top of the hill so drivers could choose an alternate route earlier.
Town staff suggested May exchange contact information with Public Works Director Sean Knapp, who was in the back of the room, so staff could follow up with Lafayette about sign placement. Public Works Director Sean Knapp agreed to follow up and provide May with contact information. The town manager said staff would inform the council of the outcome.
This item was part of the public‑communication segment (non‑agenda comments); no formal council action was taken, but staff accepted the request and will report back.
