"Colorado is 1 of 17 states, that does not have a statewide HVAC license," McComb said in the presentation. He told the committee that the lack of a statewide license means mechanical/HVAC licensing is handled locally and that requirements vary across jurisdictions, creating administrative burden for contractors and potential consumer-safety and environmental risks.
