The school board voted unanimously to approve a motion to disregard a typographical error on Article 14 of the FY25 warrant. Superintendent Nick Lyons explained the typed warrant listed $4,205,222.34 but the correct assessed amount (and the number used in district calculations and town charges) is $4,025,222.34; the two digits had been transposed during drafting. Lyons said the Department of Education flagged the discrepancy and the district is correcting the record; the towns were charged the correct amount.
On finances, the business office provided monthly figures showing the district's cash position for June is higher than the same point last year but noted at least two payrolls remain for the month plus outstanding contracts and co-curricular stipend payments. The office projected a remaining balance in the range of $1 million to $2 million after all June activity and payrolls settle. Officials noted those are projections, not an exact final figure.
The motion to disregard the typo and related recordkeeping motion passed unanimously.
