RSU 22 approves summer staff nominations, records resignations and formally recognizes Hamden Academy Unified Club

Smith School (25 years in RSU 22; Dean portion salary $43,000); Pamela Fox for assistant special education director (12 years experience; salary $88,000); and Shannon Shaw for McGraw principal (23 years in education; salary $112,588).
The board also recorded three resignations announced during the meeting: Lee Birmingham (grade 4 teacher, George V. Wetherbee School), Liam Quinn (special education, George V. Wetherbee School) and Audrey Cliff (math teacher, Reedsbrook Middle School).
On extracurriculars, the board voted to approve the Hamden Academy Unified Club as a formal activity retroactive to the current year because the club had been operating informally and had not previously completed the board's formal recognition steps.
Superintendent Lyons and board members noted the district has attracted high-caliber candidates during recent hiring rounds; several nominees were introduced or present at the meeting. All personnel motions recorded in the meeting were approved by unanimous vote.
