The commission noted overlapping ownership and management by the town, the Land Bank, and the Sconset Trust and described the connection as a collaborative effort.
Commissioners discussed using the word “Connector” in the name because the link primarily routes users between existing systems rather than serving as a standalone trail. Staff described several alignment features on town GIS during the discussion and identified a planned bike rack at a leg that joins Milestone Road.
No formal vote to adopt a new name was taken. Instead the commission agreed to table the item and bring back additional naming proposals at a future meeting after more members have walked the route.
The commission will revisit the item at a later meeting, when staff will present additional name options and any public suggestions collected in the interim.
