Connetquot district honors retiring staff across roles

Connetquot Central School District held an evening recognition ceremony honoring staff who recently retired from roles across teaching, clerical, transportation and operations. District presenters read long lists of retirees and invited them onstage for acknowledgment; certificates were to be distributed later in the cafeteria.
The district named classroom retirees including Laura Belden, Lisonbee Brennan, Alma Campanile Campanelli, Sandra Conrad, Adrianna DeFelice, Alicia Feinberg, Laura Lee Flynn, Kim Gremley, Ken Lehman, Lorraine Ligori, Deb Murata, Sue McInerney, Cheryl O'Donnell Lowry, Mary Parisi, Kim Patterson, Bill Proccaccini, Cynthia Russo and Antonio Sventura. A nurse retiree named Joanne Walters and clerical retirees including Joanne Ali were also listed.
District staff also read names from operations and transportation units and from teaching assistant and aide positions. During the remarks an organizer noted, in jest, a figure for “over 473 years” of collective service and then said that number had been made up; the ceremony did not present an official aggregate total of years. The district asked retirees to collect certificates and refreshments in the cafeteria after the program.
