Buellton council adopts annual water supply report, affirms Central Coast Water Authority commitments

The Buellton City Council voted unanimously June 12 to adopt Resolution 25-13, the city’s 2025 annual water supply report required under Central Coast Water Authority (CCWA) rules. Public Works Director Rose Hess presented the report as an annual accounting of water sources, use and anticipated future supply.
Hess told the council state water was purchased to supplement Buellton’s existing supplies and is not intended to be the city’s primary source. She said allocations from the state vary with the water year and that groundwater has been relatively steady. Buellton participates in the San Ynez Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA), and the city’s groundwater activities and data were included in the annual report.
Staff recommended adoption of Resolution 25-13 to satisfy CCWA reporting requirements (CCWA Resolution Nos. 92-02 and 92-11). There was no public comment during the item. The motion to adopt the resolution passed on a unanimous voice vote.
