Highway staff said the county received Community Crossings program funds and that those dollars must be appropriated to the specific project lines to be spent. The staff reported the small-structure line (fund 9194) will receive $198,850 and the Bridge 44 rehabilitation project (fund 9695) will receive approximately $204,007.50 as listed in the packet.
No members of the public spoke during the public hearing on these appropriations. A council member moved to appropriate the funds to the listed line items; the motion passed on a voice vote.
County staff noted the Community Crossings rules require that awarded dollars be used on the selected projects and that the county provide required matches and documentation for construction costs and eligible expenditures. The appropriation authorizes staff to spend the awarded grant funds and associated local match for the listed projects.
