Bridgeport Borough Council on June 10 approved a request from Growing Bridgeport Together to use the borough parking lot for a Holiday Village event on Nov. 29, 2025.
John Gundrum, representing Growing Bridgeport Together, told council the group intends to place a 20‑by‑40 tent for children’s activities, install a 4‑by‑6 vinyl banner on the sidewalk for two to three weeks before the event and request public works hang lights inside the tent. He said the Girl Scouts have run the children’s activities in prior years and were expected to do so again.
Councilwoman Diane Gundrum recused herself from deliberations on this item because of her position with Growing Bridgeport Together; the recusal was announced before the motion. The motion to approve the event use carried after the council vote.
Ending Council members asked staff to coordinate logistics with the applicant, including tent installation and removal schedules and public‑works assistance with lighting.
