Votes at a glance: Business, facilities and personnel approvals at Vernon board meeting

At its June 12 public meeting the Vernon Township Board of Education approved a broad set of business-administration and personnel resolutions (identified in the meeting record as items P2A through P2GG and related superintendent recommendations). The board moved the business-administration block by motion and approved the consolidated slate by roll call.

Key actions approved (motion carried as a block unless noted):

- Facilities and capital projects: The board noted local finance board approval to move forward with the district Energy Savings Improvement Program (ESIP) bond and approved several change orders and capital contracts. The board approved a change order of $11,400 to add new window shades for the Glen Meadow Middle School window replacement project, to be deducted from the project allowance. A kitchen equipment change order for Glen Meadow added approximately $15,000 for a dishwasher (contingency-funded). The Glen Meadow windows project is scheduled to start in September–October with shift work to reduce class disruption.
