Twinsburg City Council voted unanimously June 10 to rezone property at 9392 Ravenna Road from C-2 commercial to I-1 intensive commercial and light industrial use and authorized the Summit County Board of Elections to place the rezoning question on the Nov. 4, 2025 ballot.
The rezoning ordinance (49-20-25) passed on a 7-0 vote after members said the change had cleared the planning commission. Council members noted one resident had asked about the meaning of “intensive commercial” and said the applicant’s plans eased that concern.
Council members said the planning commission recommended the rezoning unanimously. After adopting the rezoning ordinance, the council voted to suspend the three-reading rule and approve ordinance 57-20-25, which formally requests the county place the rezoning question before voters so the issue is decided in the November general election.
The council did not record additional conditions tied to the rezoning during the meeting. No public speakers spoke for or against the rezoning during the legislative discussion that appears in the record.
Because the council chose to submit the question to voters, final land-use approval will be determined by the outcome of the ballot measure pending the Nov. 4, 2025 election.
