Town staff told trustees the application had been continued from the May 13 meeting while the applicant completed a needs‑and‑desires petition circulator requirement for signatures within the one‑mile notification radius. By June 5 staff reported the application was complete: Chaffee County building sign‑off was recorded, and police, planning, code enforcement and fire district reviewers had provided approvals or comments required for the permit.
Applicant Sarah Hernandez told trustees the business opened in May 2024, has built relationships with local hotels and needs the larger Highway 24 location to increase capacity; she also said staff are trained on responsible alcohol service. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing.
A trustee moved and the board voted to approve the change‑of‑location permit. Staff noted the board has no authority over a trade‑name change, which is processed by the state liquor licensing authority.
