Council removes two ordinances from the table and approves truck restriction on Jameson Lane and zoning text amendments

Monroeville Borough Council removed two ordinances from the table and approved both on Tuesday: an ordinance imposing truck restrictions on Jameson Lane and a separate ordinance amending the borough’s zoning ordinance (referred to in the meeting as ordinance number 27 79).

A council member moved to remove the Jameson Lane truck restriction ordinance from the table so council could act on it. After the item was brought forward, a motion to approve the ordinance passed on roll call; a presiding officer announced, “The ayes have it.” No further conditions or amendments were recorded during the meeting.

Council then removed the zoning text amendment ordinance from the table. The ordinance was described in the agenda packet as amending various sections of the Monroeville zoning ordinance; the meeting transcript identifies the ordinance in the packet as “ordinance number 27 79, the Monroeville zoning ordinance to provide for text amendments to various sections of said ordinance.” Council moved to approve the text amendments, and the motion carried on a roll-call vote; again, the presiding officer announced, “The ayes have it.”

There was no substantive public debate recorded on either ordinance during the meeting. Both measures passed by roll call following the motions to remove each item from the table and vote.
