Engineer requests favorable recommendation for Nashville Getaway RV rezoning; neighboring owner raises outreach concerns

An engineer representing the Nashville Getaway RV project told the Dickson County Planning Commission the applicant seeks rezoning so the parcel can host an RV resort; he asked the commission to recommend the rezoning to the county commission. A nearby property owner raised concerns during public comment about limited outreach from the applicant.

Jared Gray, who identified himself as the engineer of record with Civil Design Consultants, said the applicant had completed a traffic assessment, planned to meet with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and had contacted the Water Authority of Dickson County about water and sewer. "We do request a favorable recommendation to county commission," Gray said.

Russell Crowe, a property owner of record related to the project, told the commission he had sent messages to the applicant and received no timely response until he called three days before the meeting; he said that lack of communication raised “red flags” about the applicant’s reliability.

Commissioners noted the public comment was placed on the record; the commission did not take a formal vote or make a recommendation on this specific project during public comment. Staff reminded attendees that site‑plan review, utility availability, and any required state approvals would be necessary if and when the rezoning and site plan are submitted for formal consideration.
