MPO to revise Safe Streets and Roads for All plan section to improve federal grant reviewability

Tim (APC staff) told the board the MPO will submit clarifying material to its Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) safety action plan to match changes in the federal Notice of Funding Opportunity and improve the competitiveness of a near-term grant application.
Tim said the MPO is not adding or deleting recommended projects; instead staff will add a few pages to one section to make existing information easier for federal reviewers to find. The change is intended to address reviewer concerns identified during a pre-screening review and to strengthen an application being prepared in partnership with Lafayette for a portion of South Ninth Street.
Staff will submit the grant application near the June deadline, publish the “revised” plan on the MPO website for potential public comment and return to the MPO Policy Board next month for formal approval of the clarifications.
