Sherry Mead, Community Development Director for the City of Fortuna, told the Planning Commission that a 66‑bed supportive housing project for seniors and people with disabilities — to be called the Humboldt Senior Resources Center — will come before the commission at its next meeting.
Mead said the proposal will be considered as a design review, a conditional use permit and a request under the state density bonus program. She asked commissioners to attend and consider the project when it is scheduled.
The announcement did not include a site address, funding details or a construction timeline. No public testimony on the project was taken at this meeting; staff characterized the item as an upcoming agenda item that will return for formal consideration and decision at a future meeting.
