Pierce County Council confirms appointments to advisory boards, sets District 7 evening meeting

The Pierce County Council on Tuesday confirmed a series of resolutions appointing and reappointing members to county advisory panels and scheduling an evening district meeting.
Council member Morell moved to approve Resolution R2025-152, confirming the reappointment of Sarah Conrad to the Pierce County Allocation Advisory Committee for Prevention Programs. Conrad spoke to the council about returning to the committee and her experience reviewing and helping lead the committee’s work. The council adopted R2025-152 by roll call, 6-0.
Council member Ayala moved to approve Resolution R2025-155, confirming the appointment of Christy Williams and Mary Fran Maron to the Aging and Disability Resources Advisory Board. Christy Williams introduced herself online as "the utility education and outreach coordinator for Tacoma Public Utilities" and said she has worked with low-income seniors and had previously received services from the agency. The council adopted R2025-155 by roll call, 6-0.
Vice Chair Herrera moved to approve Resolution R2025-150, setting the date, time and place for an evening District 7 meeting on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at Hart Church, 655 Sixth Avenue, Fox Island, and repealing an earlier resolution that set a different venue. County staff explained the change was solely to update the venue; the charter requires at least one evening meeting in each council district and the council’s rules set the specific time and place by resolution. The council adopted R2025-150 by roll call, 6-0.
During the public hearing on R2025-152, Sarah Conrad received in-person support from Sandy Sledge, who said she provides support to the allocation advisory committee and thanked Conrad for volunteering. No members of the public spoke on R2025-155 or R2025-150 when the clerk opened public comment online.
