SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Snohomish County staff reported Tuesday that required mitigation monitoring for wetland restoration and stream bank enhancement on the Buffalo Farm tract has been completed and asked the committee to move a motion transferring the property to the City of Mill Creek to the June 11 General Legislative Session (GLS).
Staff said the county completed a road-widening and improvements project in 2004 along 30th Avenue Southeast and that, as part of environmental permits from the Washington State Department of Ecology and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the county completed wetland restoration and stream bank enhancement and monitoring on three separate tracts within the area. The monitoring period required by the permits has concluded, staff said.
Under a 2005 interlocal agreement with the City of Mill Creek, the county is to deed the tract known as Buffalo Farm (Assessor parcel number 28053300204000) to the city. The proposed motion would approve and authorize the county executive to sign the statutory warranty deed to the City of Mill Creek consistent with Snohomish County Charter 2.2 and Snohomish County Code 13.70.01 paragraph 2.
Committee members agreed to move the motion to GLS on June 11 for consideration and asked no substantive questions at the committee meeting. Staff said the request was for council consideration to transfer the real property by warranty deed per the earlier interlocal agreement.
The committee did not take a final vote; the transfer will be considered at the GLS meeting on June 11 if advanced by the council.
