The Snohomish County Council on May 28 unanimously approved a revised interlocal agreement to continue operation of the Justice Campus Cafe through the Washington State Department of Services for the Blind Business Enterprise Program and directed clerks to replace the originally submitted documents with corrected versions.
Deb Lisonbee Bell, council staff, said, “This agreement would allow Snohomish County and the state of Washington to facilitate the provisions of the cafe and vending services through the state's blind business enterprise program under RCW 39.34 and RCW 74.18 0.22.” Bell told the council the renewal is a five-year term, that the cafe facility was incorporated into the campus courtyard in 2005, and that errors had been found in the originally submitted ILA and lease agreement. The requested action included swapping the original ILA and lease with revised documents and authorizing the county property officer to sign the ILA on behalf of the county.
Council approved the procedural motion to swap the revised ILA and lease and then approved motion 25-246 to continue the interlocal agreement. Both actions passed by voice vote with no dissent. The council’s approval authorizes continued cafe and vending services under the state blind business enterprise program for the agreed term; the council did not amend services, fees, or the core program in the meeting minutes beyond approving the corrected documents.
