Council honors Terry Ryan’s service with resolution; Ryan thanks colleagues

The Snohomish County Council on June 11 unanimously adopted Resolution 25-028 honoring Terry Ryan for his years of service.
Councilmember Low and Councilmember Nehring each spoke in praise of Ryan’s mentorship and his role in bringing commercial air service to Paine Field. Councilmember Low said, in part, that Ryan’s “mentorship, your guidance, was very instrumental in helping me grow as a council member.” Councilmember Nehring added that Ryan had been a “tireless advocate for all of his constituents” and thanked him for his work at the airport.
Terry Ryan, the honoree, responded with brief remarks thanking council members and reflecting on his 12 years of service; he praised county employees and council collaboration and expressed appreciation for the resolution’s language describing his service as “dedication and distinction.” The resolution was moved and seconded by Councilmember Nehring and Councilmember Low and passed unanimously with five ayes. The council recessed briefly for photos following the vote.
