Council approves 2025–29 HUD consolidated plan and 2025 action plan totaling nearly $10 million

The Snohomish County Council on June 11 approved motion 25-264 adopting the Urban County Consortium’s 2025–29 consolidated plan and the 2025 annual action plan for HUD housing and community development programs.
Council staff Cynthia Foley said the consolidated plan is a five‑year strategic plan assessing local needs in affordable housing and nonhousing community development and establishes goals to guide investments of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds. Staff reported an estimated $9,982,410 in consortium CDBG, HOME and ESG funding is available for allocation in program year 2025. Projects recommended for funding were forwarded by the Consortium’s Policy Advisory Board on April 4, and the public comment period closed May 8.
The motion, moved and seconded by Councilmember Nehring and Councilmember Mead, passed unanimously with five ayes. The staff report did not enumerate individual funded projects in the council presentation; the council relied on prior recommendation by the Policy Advisory Board and the closed public comment process.
