Commissioners approve ERP program manager contract for county software upgrade at $220,000 over two years

Skamania County on June 10 approved a contract to hire an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program manager to lead the county’s implementation of a new financial and administrative software system.
The board confirmed the selection of E. T. Roland as the ERP program manager and approved a contract totaling $220,000 over two years, with a cap of 2,000 hours. County staff included language requiring renegotiation if the work extends beyond the specified two-year period or the 2,000-hour cap.
County officials said they interviewed three candidates and chose Roland based on a mix of local availability and technical program- and project-management experience. Staff noted the contract amount was about $20,000 higher than an internal target but still below another proposal the county received. Roland’s start date was announced as the Monday following the meeting.
Commissioners voted to approve the contract and to have county legal and administrative staff finalize minor edits before signatures. The board instructed staff to monitor hours and negotiate any extension or additional funding if necessary.
