Pierce County sets District 2 evening meeting for June 23 in Edgewood

The Pierce County Council on May 27 adopted Resolution R2025‑151 to set an evening district meeting for District 2 at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Edgewood City Hall (22224 100th Avenue East, Edgewood, Washington). The evening meeting is required at least once per year in each council district under the Pierce County Charter and the council’s rules of procedure.
County staff briefed the council that the evening meeting will be held in addition to the regular 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 meeting. Ms. Long (council staff) explained the charter and rules rationale and noted the date and place. Vice Chair Herrera described planned content for the Edgewood meeting, including a presentation from WSDOT on the gateway project and a focus on local road projects; Herrera said the theme will be infrastructure for the district.
The council opened public comment for the resolution; no members of the public spoke. The roll call recorded seven ayes and zero nays and the resolution was adopted.
Councilmembers and staff encouraged residents of District 2 to attend the evening meeting to hear the infrastructure briefings and speak with councilmembers and staff.
