The North Pocono School District Board of Education authorized the administration on June 11 to request proposals for the installation of solar arrays at each of the district’s five school buildings. The motion, moved by Board member Mrs. Walsh, passed unanimously.
Mrs. Walsh clarified on the record that the request for proposals (RFP) does not mean any work will be completed; the board is "just reviewing the options of solar arrays at the district buildings," she said. The RFP authorization is an exploratory step to gather proposals and pricing; no contract award or installation was approved at the meeting.
The vote was 7-0. Board members noted the action was limited to seeking proposals; further decisions would require additional board approval if staff recommend moving forward with any installation.
