Commissioners approved the final order to vacate a small platted but unbuilt portion of Main Street within the plat of Mons, after a county engineer’s report and a public notice period that yielded no public comment.

County staff explained the vacated segment is on the north side of the Mons Bridge Road and that the plat historically dedicated a 30-foot right-of-way; the final order retains a 30-foot right-of-way and records the petitioner’s obligation to pay a $6,800 fee as a condition precedent to completing the transaction. The county engineer reported that the portion vacated will not prevent access to adjacent parcels because the parcel to the west has other access.

No members of the public offered comments during the hearing. Commissioners moved to sign the final order, subject to the condition the petitioner pay the required fee; the motion passed unanimously.

The action will be recorded once the $6,800 condition is met and county staff completes the administrative steps indicated in the order.
