Superintendent Dr. Finney told the board no members of the public had signed up or contacted the district to speak about the proposed FY26 budget and confirmed the tentative budget had been published as required in the legal organ. The board then voted to approve the final FY26 budget later that evening.
Dr. Finney and board members credited finance staff and department heads for preparing the budget. Board members expressed appreciation for staff work and for meeting collaboratively through detailed line‑by‑line review. "I would just like to say thank you to Miss Seha and her department and all of the department heads," a board member said during discussion before the vote.
The vote to adopt the budget followed the district’s two required public hearings. Board members confirmed copies of the proposed budget were available to the public at the meeting and would remain available after the meeting.
Discussion during the hearing did not include public objections or requests for changes. The board chair called for a motion to approve the final draft of the FY26 budget, a second was recorded, and the motion carried with the board voting "all in favor."
