City council authorized the city manager to execute a contract with a pyrotechnics provider to launch the fireworks display at the city’s Fourth on the Plateau celebration.
Parks and Recreation Director Anjali Meyer told council the city’s previous vendor withdrew and that staff identified Freedom Entertainment LLC as a replacement. Meyer said staff and the city attorney were finalizing insurance and indemnification language in the vendor agreement. The draft contract in the council packet carried a not‑to‑exceed amount of $50,000.
Council moved and seconded approval of a contract substantially in the form presented and voted to authorize final execution by the city manager. No further conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes.
Parks staff said the Fourth on the Plateau event typically draws 12,000–15,000 attendees and will include music, food trucks and other activities; staff thanked event sponsor People Come First Construction Group for event support.
