Michael Michachi, production director at Red Dogs Roofing, said the contract calls for replacing the upper shingle roof and removing the current fiber‑cement siding on the Mansard — which he described as premature wear — and replacing it with a synthetic‑slate product in a dark gray/black blend. Michachi said he had used the synthetic slate product on other houses and preferred the chosen option.
Commissioners had no public comment and voted to find the proposed work would not be detrimental to Worcester’s historic resources, approving the demo‑delay waiver.
