County awards debris removal and monitoring contracts for disaster recovery

Bryan County authorized staff to draft and execute contracts with firms selected through a request for qualifications (RFQ) process to provide debris removal and debris monitoring services for disaster recovery.
Staff said six qualification packages were received for debris removal and, after scoring, DRC Emergency Services LLC ranked highest and was deemed the most qualified to assist with disaster debris removal. For debris monitoring services, five packages were received; Goodwin Mills Caywood scored highest and was recommended for award. Staff asked the board to authorize contract drafting and execution for both services.
Commissioners approved the recommendations and directed staff to proceed with contract drafting. Staff confirmed the successful firms were not local vendors, per the scoring and results presented in the meeting.
Contracts will govern the county’s debris operations in the event of qualifying disasters and will be structured per the RFQ, with standard contract administration and oversight by county emergency and public‑works staff.
