Glynn County Procurement Analyst Nikki Thompson announced six bids for IFP25-057, the Coast Guard Beach Park construction project Scope B, during the county's publicly streamed bid opening.
The matter is part of the county's planned construction work at Coast Guard Beach Park; Thompson said procurement staff and the project manager will review all paperwork and that a bid tabulation will be posted to the county website. Any recommended award will go to the finance committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners.
Thompson read the six bids. McDonald Construction Company of Vidalia, Georgia, submitted a lump-sum bid of $4,570,000.00. Galacia Construction of Ridgeland, South Carolina, bid $4,388,178.00. Sanit Corporation of Savannah, Georgia, bid $4,787,379.00. Overholt Construction of Fortis, Georgia, bid $5,136,992.00. An entrant listed as n d McDonald Construction Company of Brunswick, Georgia, bid $6,052,680.00. Allen and Greene Incorporated of Brunswick, Georgia, bid $6,269,988.00. Thompson reiterated that the county reserves the right to weigh technicalities and that the lowest bid may not be the contract award.
No award was made at the bid opening. The county will publish the formal tabulation online and notify registered bidders when it is available.
