Glynn County opens bids for Coast Guard Beach parking and drainage improvements

Thompson read the four bids aloud. J. Hire Company Incorporated of Baxley, Georgia, submitted the lowest bid at $2,812,966.39. Underground Excavating Incorporated of Paterson, Georgia, bid $2,865,532.00. Semat Corporation of Savannah, Georgia, bid $4,114,701.86. Reeves Construction Company of Duncan, South Carolina, bid $4,129,138.33. Thompson reminded attendees that the county reserves the right to weigh technicalities and that the lowest bid may not be the recommended awardee.
The county will post the formal bid tabulation on its website when available and notify registered bidders; Thompson advised signing up for bid alerts on the Glynn County homepage. No award or formal selection was made at the bid opening.
