Kipp said that because the actual tonnage came in under the initial estimate, Grizzly Disposal issued a partial refund, reducing the total disposal cost to about $600.
Council members said the cleanup revealed operational lessons for future events: have at least two dumpsters available, limit disposal to a single staffed day, and station attendants to prevent after-hours dumping. One speaker noted that despite locking the dumpsters, people still left items outside them on following days, increasing volunteer workload for cleanup.
Council business included plans to consider another community event at West Riverside Park in partnership with 2 Rivers and County Parks and Open Lands. Judy asked whether the council wanted to sponsor or co-sponsor a picnic similar to last year’s event; council members agreed to hold a special meeting to finalize details and any contribution. The council indicated July as the preferred month for a weekday evening event, with Wednesday nights favored by several members; a special meeting will be scheduled to set details.
Other community notes included an announcement that the Bonner Native Plant Garden behind the post office is open to visitors and updates on ongoing community communications.
