Scottsburg staff reports smoother residential trash pickup; State Board of Accounts exit conference scheduled

Staff described operational details: dumpsters should face the street, not be placed close to cars or fences, and the truck requires roughly three to five feet of clearance to pick up. The speaker said staff had hauled multiple loads themselves to the landfill and that residential pickup is “going like clockwork.”
The board was also told the State Board of Accounts has completed on-site work and is ready to do an exit conference. A city presenter said auditors had been on-site for two to three weeks and that the city would report results after the exit conference.
Board members asked operational clarifying questions about staffing and routes during the update. No formal board action was taken; the item was a staff report and announcement.
