The Village of Jackson personnel committee voted Tuesday to enter closed session to consider the village’s 2025 employee compensation plan and the 2025 performance review of the village administrator.
At 5:30 p.m., President Heckendorf called the personnel committee meeting to order and the committee approved minutes from the May 15, 2025, personnel committee meeting. Trustee Emerick moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Trustee Kripke; the motion carried without recorded opposition.
Later in the agenda, the committee moved to go into closed session under Wisconsin Statutes §19.85(1)(c), which permits a governmental body to meet in closed session to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation matters. Trustee Kripke moved to enter closed session and Trustee Emerick seconded. In a roll-call vote President Heckendorf, Trustee Emerick and Trustee Kripke each voted “aye,” and the motion carried 3-0.
The committee identified two topics for the closed session: the village’s 2025 employee compensation plan, and the 2025 performance review of the village administrator, to include the personnel committee and the village administrator. The public record in the open session contains no further substantive discussion of the compensation plan or performance review; any decisions reached in closed session are not recorded in the public portion of the meeting minutes.
No other actions or votes on the substance of the compensation plan or the performance review were taken in open session.
