The Planning Commission approved a site plan for a 351‑unit mini‑storage facility on a 4.25‑acre parcel at 297 McMurray Boulevard.
Applicant Johnny Farley said he purchased the property in spring and presented engineered site plans and a phased development schedule. Planning staff (Rosalie and Amanda) reported that the applicant had met with the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) earlier in the day; the BZA granted variances to allow the applicant to use an all‑weather paving material at locations shown on the plan, accepted the existing landscaping buffer as sufficient, and assigned parking at one space per storage unit (approximately 350 spaces). Amanda said, given the BZA approvals and the site plan’s conformance with C‑2 district standards, the project complies with county development standards.
Commissioners had no substantive objections after staff summarized the BZA actions and the site plan’s engineering status. A motion to approve the site plan passed. The applicant must still obtain any required permits and inspections and comply with all conditions noted on the approved site plan and BZA variances.
