Commissioners approve $230,024.70 to fully fund court services contract, opt to use general fund reserve over JUUL settlement funds

The Oklahoma County Board of Commissioners on June 6 voted to fully fund the county's court services contract for the year in the amount of $230,024.70 and decided that the payment will come from the general fund reserve rather than from JUUL settlement (one-time) funds.

The item was introduced by a member of the board who also brought forward representatives from county justice offices: Vicky Behenna, identified in the meeting as the district attorney; Paul Timmons, jail administrator; and Bridget Biffle, public defender. Chris Steele also attended representing related operations, and Jim Holman, described in the meeting as a member of the jail trust, was present in support.
