Borough planning staff told the Smart Growth Committee on June 11 that reviews of Westchester University’s campus master plan are continuing and that additional consultant analyses are being sought to evaluate transportation, circulation and parking impacts.
“We need to consider the impact of, reducing overall parking, adding beds to the plan, and closing the roadways that are all contemplated in their master plan and see if their calculations were done correctly and see if it works,” planning staff member Sean told the committee.

Staff said they are exploring a shared engineering review with neighboring West Goshen Township and expect the university to extend the borough’s conditional‑use review deadline into late summer so a full review and community outreach can precede a formal hearing.
Staff asked the committee to expect further written recommendations from the planning commission after consultant reviews. Sean said the borough also plans a session with counsel to discuss legal and review timing issues. Committee members noted the volume of material and urged residents to review posted documents and attend future outreach sessions.
