Sawyer County Health and Human Services staff reported operational updates June 10 covering timekeeping, electronic health-record (EHR) onboarding, organizational changes and a plan to centralize client referral handling.
The updates matter because they affect staff workflows, billing and the county’s ability to coordinate services across divisions.
Carrie, HHS staff, said the department has transitioned all staff to TimeClock Plus for time tracking and that the county obtained a grant to cover EHR onboarding costs. “We obtained a grant to help cover those onboarding costs of getting the new up and running,” Carrie said; staff said the EHR implementation is scheduled for summer–fall with a January billing transition planned.
Staff reported a June 4 all-staff meeting that covered county operations, an employee-assistance program presentation by Bill Dursturz and a workplace-safety and fleet-vehicle-policy review. Carrie and others described work to update the organizational chart to better reflect division functions and a plan to develop a conflict-of-interest questionnaire for HHS staff.
HHS staff also said they are beginning to track walk-in traffic at the courthouse office to measure demand and plan service changes, and that they intend to develop a centralized referral process so clients reach the appropriate resource without repeated handoffs.
Board members asked about seeing the proposed budget before the next meeting; staff said budget materials will be shared with the board and that a public-comment period for the HHS budget will be scheduled in compliance with state requirements.
No board action on EHR procurement, TimeClock Plus or organizational-chart changes was recorded at the June 10 meeting; these items were reported as staff work in progress.
