Tumwater committee forwards two-year specialized-recreation ILA with Thurston County to June 17 consent calendar

Todd, who briefed the committee, described the program as a three-decade collaboration among Thurston County and the cities of Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater to deliver recreation services for people with disabilities, including day trips, monthly events, dances, movie nights and year-round fitness programming. Todd said Tumwater’s annual contribution is “just over $2,000” and that the presented agreement covers a two-year term.
“It’s a great program,” Todd said, noting his prior experience with Thurston County Parks and Recreation and the visible benefits to participants. Committee members voiced support for the agreement without further questions.
Council member Kathy moved to place the interlocal agreement between Tumwater and Thurston County for specialized recreation services on the June 17 consent calendar with a recommendation to approve and authorize the mayor to sign; the motion was seconded and the committee approved the placement unanimously. The item will appear on the June 17 council consent calendar for final action by the full council.
